Yeats Country Racontour  This GPS audio tour brings you to each and every spot that William Butler Yeats is associated with in Counties Sligo and Leitrim. It tells you about his times there, what inspiration he got from them and of course, some of the wonderful poetry of that time read out by actors. Available to download from the 22nd of May, with enough support, we hope to expand the tour to take in Dublin and County Galway to give you the most comprehensive tour you’ll find on Ireland’s finest poet.


It’s been designed as a two day audio driving tour. Day One takes in Knocknarea, Carrowmore, Tobernault holy well, the Lake Isle of Inishfree and Lough Gill, Parkes Castle and Dromahair. Day Two brings you to Glencar lake and waterfall, the mythical site of Diarmaid’s betrayal under Ben Bulben, Lissadell House, Drumcliff where Yeats is buried, Rosses Point and Sligo Town itself.


Please familiarize yourself with the route in advance and ensure you read the directions given where it’s suggested you stop.
